Patient Success Stories
This young model had her lips filled by me 2 weeks before this photo shoot. I wanted to emphasize the importance of sculpting the lip to create a sharp border without making the lips look overdone. The sharpness alone will give the pleasing appearance of fuller lips without creating the “duck” look. Of note is that the under eye area was also treated with filler to soften the beginnings of under eye bags and discoloration. Although the patient is in her thirties and her under eye bags were just beginning to manifest, she had been covering up the area with foundation for over a year. She no longer needs to do so.
In this picture, only the right side of the face has been treated to demonstrate how filler is able to fill in under eye bags, reharmonize the inner and outer cheeks and provide a lift to the midface and nasolabial folds. As can be seen, the left side of the face still has the under eye bags, sunken cheeks and deeper nasolabial folds. These issues were immediately addressed following this picture.
This is a 54 year old woman who was unhappy with the fat loss in the marionette zone around the mouth. The fat loss created a divot and made the skin behind it hang over the hollowed area and creating the start of jowls. It also caused the corners of her lips to turn downward. Restylane was used to replace the lost fat and in the process lifted and supported the corners of the mouth. This process is called peri-oral rejuvenation and it has the profound effect of creating a more youthful appearance. It should be noted that the “After” photo was taken immediately after the procedure and some minor redness is present which will subside in 20-30 minutes.
This is an example of a subtle softening of nasolabial fold lines in a 57 year old. Restylane was used to soften the nasolabial folds and the fine lines and creases within it. The photo was taken immediately following the injection with no touch ups. In two weeks as the Restylane integrates into the skin, the effects will be even more impressive.
